Studied at IIT Kharagpur (2019)

One of my friends studied at XISS, I can share some details about this institution. XISS has still not been able to make its name among the top colleges of India despite being such an old institute.

  • Being an average college, it has average placements and in fact, every student doesn't get placed.
  • You will also find politics and discrimination in XISS among students during the placements.
  • It doesn't provide required exposure to MBA students which is very important for their careers.
  • The campus is very small and there are no hostels available inside the campus.
  • XISS is located in Ranchi which is a disadvantage as the city is not developed and very few facilities available when compared to bigger cities like Delhi, Bangalore, etc.
  • XISS has a reservation system and 50% of the seats are reserved for Christian SC/ST students. Their fees are also lesser than general category students.
  • The students from backward caste comprise almost 70% of the total students in this college.

It will be better to avoid XISS and take admission in other B-schools like Army Institute of Management, Kolkata which might provide better facilities and placement opportunities to its students. Do thorough research before making a decision.
