The students who are accepted have excellent academics and talents that make them stand apart from other candidates.
For reference, it’s as hard to get into Ashoka as it is for a student from the USA to get into the University of Michigan and UCB. However, you shouldn’t hesitate to apply as the application is free. One does not even need SAT scores. All you need is the academic record from grades 9 to 12.

The major differentiating factor between the two is that while Ashoka is a reputed university that has made a name for itself Krea University is comparatively new to people and has yet to achieve that place.
Certain points that one can consider while comparing the above two institutes are:
FACULTY:
Apparently since Ashoka University is much older and more reputed than Krea University it provides elite professors to its students. Although the faculty at Krea is also amazing it still lacks when compared to that of Ashoka’s.
FEE STRUCTURE:
Apparently, Ashoka university is a bit more expensive than Krea University. Although both universities have provisions for education loans, financial aid etc. (refer to college brochure for details). Also, the details of fee structure for the mentioned course in respective colleges is as follows:
INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE:
Interacting people with different backgrounds is one of the essential components of Liberal Arts.
Ashoka’s Summer Abroad/Semester Abroad programs provide students with these opportunities. This is because they also have tie-ups with some of the best institutes of the world including University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, University of California-Berkeley etc. which also provides their students to attend guest lectures from the professors of best universities of the world.
However, Krea University has also partnered with some elite international organisations (i.e. the Academic Internship Council (AIC), University College Cork (UCC), Australia Council for the Arts and University of Wellington (UoW) New Zealand India Research Institute (NZIRI)). And the number is yet to increase with time.
STUDENT GROUP AND PLACEMENTS:
Since Ashoka has established a name for itself it attracts mostly the best students of the country due to its past records and reputation which is a feat that Krea University will take some time to achieve since it is a newly established university (for UG in liberal arts).
Ashoka University maintains a decent track record of placements including recruiters such as RBL BANK, Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), Microsoft Research (SGO), McKinsey & Co, Ernst & Young (EY), Bloomberg Quint, Mu Sigma, Boston Consulting Group etc. with average package offers ranging from 7-9 LPA.
Whereas since the first batch of liberal arts at Krea was incepted in the year 2018 the placements scenario is yet to unfold.
One of my junior from school received admission offer for the batch of 2023 at Ashoka University. Ashoka University courses don’t have any fixed cutoff. If you apply the admission office will evaluate your profile by taking everything into account. Your essays, interview, ECs will play a major role in the selection. So, you don’t need to worry about the lowest marks required as it is not relevant to your candidature.
You don't have much of a problem if your interests are in the sciences or literature and you don't have a preference for business or management. Clearly, Ashoka is the superior choice. In a similar vein, IIMI is the better choice if business/management or their related fields are of interest to you. Although neither is firmly established, Ashoka offers a more liberal arts university environment while IIMI offers a more business school environment due to the inherent structures of the programs and institutes. Because it is a liberal arts course, the IPM course is fairly nuanced. The Ashoka courses are no exception, particularly those in economics and finance.
IPM's undergraduate program has no concept of "major" or specialization, just like the MBAs at IIMs. Math, statistics, economics, social sciences, and communication are all required subjects. In the end, Ashoka is a liberal arts college and IIMI is a business school. Even the most widely studied subject, economics, will be taught and learned very differently in each location. Again, you'll have to decide which you like best.
It's conceivable that Ashoka has the resources to send you to Ph.D. programs. Given the substantial alumni presence in business, IPM might be better able to place you in professional settings. Having said that, they are not mutually exclusive; you can pursue a Ph.D. after IIMI or an MBA after Ashoka.
Ashoka University’s B.Sc Economics program offers a major in Economics and interdisciplinary majors in Economics and Finance, Economics & History, and in Politics, Philosophy and Economics(PPE). NMIMS offers Economics courses which include core subjects as well as subjects like Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, IT, etc.
Both the universities offer decent placement. Top recruiters at Ashoka University are 4 MC, Kenzie Banks, and other social sectors and the average package offered was around 6-7 LPA. In NMIMS 77% of the BSc Economics students got placement from 2016-19 batch with an average package of 4.6 LPA. Top recruiters in NMIMS are Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, etc. Ashoka University also offers good internship facilities and summer exchange programs.
Compared to NMIMS, Ashoka University facilities are much better. Most of the faculties of Ashoka University are alumni of Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, etc. The course fees for Economics for the first year at NMIMS is Rs 2.75 lakhs while at Ashoka University the course fee is Rs 8.18 Lakhs. Both the universities provide scholarship facilities to meritorious students and those who need financial aid.
Both Narsee Monjee (NMIMS) and Ashoka University offer decent Economics programs which makes it difficult to pick one university over the other. So, choose according to your convenience.
Ashoka University is already attracting top-quality students for their campus. The approach to education at Ashoka University is different from regular Indian universities. It has fantastic faculty, world-class infrastructure, and excellent facilities.
The admission process at Ashoka University is quite through. The candidates should have a good academic record. In the 9th and 10th standard, you should have a GPA of more than 9 or more than 90 percent mark and this is an absolute requirement. Apart from that, it would be helpful if you have good extracurriculars. The extracurriculars include internships and competitions.
In the application form, students are required to write an essay that should be well crafted and creative. Some of the applicants are shortlisted for the interview rounds where the administrative officers check the claim based on your candidature. You have to show interest during the interview for joining Ashoka and if you outshine national-level toppers, sports players, and other qualified applicants you will get an offer from Ashoka. It implies that Ashoka takes in the best students out of all applicants.
Krea University is a newly established university, students tend to have their doubts while opting for it. Ashoka University on the other hand is a well-known esteemed university and is a brand tag in itself resulting in a huge number of aspirants.
