Yes, the Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics (PGPBA) offered by IIM Bangalore is good. The program can be considered a subdivision of the PGP program and offers similar academics and placements.

The courses in Term-1 and Term-2 are common for PGP and PGPBA. From Term-3, PGPBA follows a well-designed analytics curriculum. Compared to PGP, the curriculum of PGPBA include more Mathematics. The mandatory subjects of PGPBA are offered as electives for PGP.

IIM Bangalore designed the PGPBA program for accumulating the growing demand for efficient professionals in the field of Business Analytics. IIM Bangalore placement highlights indicate that PGPBA students mostly get recruited in Banks, E-Commerce, and Consulting sectors.

I recently had a conversation with one of my friends who is currently enrolled in the PGPBA program at IIM Bangalore. Here are his insights into the PGPBA Course offered by the institute.

Summer placements are common for the PGP program. Many recruiting firms also offer job roles for PGPBA students enrolled at the institute. Several students even get the opportunity to get recruited for consulting, product management, analytics & operations job roles.
Major placement offers are made by banks, retail firms, e-commerce, & consulting businesses.
For term 1, all the subjects are common with the regular flagship course. Similarly, for term 2 around 5 subjects are common and for term 3 only 3 subjects are common with the regular flagship course.
PGPBA can be considered to be a bit of a technical course. Students are also required to learn a certain amount of coding as per the course curriculum. However, all of this is not that difficult to manage. Many recruiters themselves offer job roles for tech profiles to the students of IIM Bangalore.
The competition present for the course seats is extremely tough to compete with.

It would be a wise decision for you to go for the brand value that IIM Bangalore. But there is still not a lot of awareness about the program as the course recently started.
