Why is Karunya University underrated even though it is producing a good placement record?
There are several reasons for this, including the fact that Karunya generally advertises only in the southern regions of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. As a result, there will be more students from here. Most North Indian students who come here learn about Karunya through alumni. Students are not given many opportunities to showcase their talents, such as singing and dancing. Doing dance numbers to Bollywood/Hollywood songs, for example. There is one thing to point out even though Karunya believes in a value-based education system yet prayers are given more weight than studies.
In comparison to other universities, there is little freedom. Most people, especially outsiders mistake this location for a Christian conversion site, which is completely false. The majority of KU alumni are dissatisfied with the university. People only ask them if they should go to Karunya at the end of the day.
Despite this, Karunya is an excellent place to study. All Karunyans need is a little more exposure to the outside world.

According to one of my friend’s personal experiences, Karunya University showcases the culture of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and other south Indian states, thus popular in South India only.
- The basic reason for Karunya being underrated is its marketing strategy. You won't see advertisements of Karunya often in print or television media.
- This restricts the proper exposure and hence reaches less number of people.
- The funds allocated for the tech-fest ‘MindKraft’ is less than what is generally spent for Christmas Mega Play.
- They tend to organize prayer festivals rather than cultural events, which is another reason why people are not enthusiastic to be a part of it.
- The university does not give much freedom to the students and discourages pursuing extra-curricular activities.
- Since Karunya University believes in imparting a value-based system of education to students, no renowned celebrity visited here ever. Whereas this is the main attraction for the majority of the colleges.
- It has been seen that most of the alumni of Karunya University are not happy after passing out from here and often regret it sometimes.
Last but not least we can say that since Karunya University is a Christian conversion place does not allow diversity on the campus. At the same time adopting the sayings and happenings of the past that might be the reason for students regretting after passing out from here.
