Which is better, IIT Bhubaneswar ECE or IIT Kharagpur Aerospace ?

IIT Bhubaneswar ECE is a better choice among these. It offers better placements. IIT Bhubaneswar placements 2022 had witnessed an average CTC of INR 22.40 LPA for ECE. 100% of students got placed from the branch. The highest CTC offered was INR 44.10 LPA.

Aerospace Engineering is a niche field. The career prospect in Aerospace is limited. Choose IIT KGP, only if you are passionate about the field and want to pursue higher studies.

The 2019 placements highlight of IIT Bhubaneswar shows that the placement rate is 86% for the ECE branch. Approximately 53% of the total students were placed in the core sectors. The highest package is 31.5 LPA and the average being 10 LPA.

Both government and private sectors hire students from the IIT Kharagpur Aerospace department. To avail job offers in government organizations like ISRO, DRDO, NAL, and HAL, you are required to pass an entrance exam, followed by an interview. All of them offer good salary packages around 7-10 LPA being the average. In the private sector, some of the recruiters that visit the campus for placements are Boeing, GE Aviation, Airbus, TATA advanced materials limited, GKN Aerospace, Honeywell, TATA advanced systems, Mahindra Aerospace, etc.

The faculties in both the institute are experienced and well qualified. Being an old IIT, IIT Kharagpur offers a larger alumni base compared to IIT Bhubaneswar which results in good placements. Also as a course, Aerospace offers more opportunities abroad. So, sort out your priority and choose the course you are interested in.
