I'm from IIT Mandi CSE and I'm getting a job at Microsoft US as well as Samsung Korea. How much can I save in cities like Redmond and Seoul?

Both the options you have are quite promising as both Microsoft US and Samsung Korea are top companies in the IT sector. But personally, I find Microsoft US a preferable option to Samsung Korea. Here’s why

• The US is a better country to kickstart your career and offers more opportunities than Korea.
• Samsung Korea has a very challenging working environment and it may take a lot of time to adapt yourself to the culture of the country.

Had I been in your place, I would have gone for Microsoft without any second thoughts even if it offered less than Samsung Korea.

It’s difficult to comment on the amount of money you will be saving as I don’t know about your salary package. If it’s around USD 100,000 you’ll save enough.
