MBBS student at Malda Medical College and Hospital

The life of a PG student at AIIMS Delhi is full of new learning and more exposure. Everything that you missed in your MBBS will be taught now and more importance is given to patient observation.

  • You will have to wake up quite early around 7:30-8:00 am.
  • After grabbing a quick breakfast, you will have to run to the OPD and observe the patients along with consultants and faculties, till almost 2 pm.
  • If possible you can have a quick lunch and then proceed to the old cases that continue till 4 pm.
  • Once you are done with the old cases, you have to rush to your ward duty which continues till late at night 12 am.
  • After this, you can come back to your hostel room and wait for the morning so that you can repeat the same cycle.
  • Amidst this cycle, there are emergency calls from SRs, and faculty to observe some specific cases, surgeries, and procedures in OTs.

The second year witnesses a more emphasis on academics and students can be seen spending a major time in B.B . Dikshit library. You will be busy presenting your Journal and attending classes.

The third year is even more hectic as you have to prepare for the final exams in addition to the already hectic hospital duties. Also, you will have to submit your thesis 6 months before passing out.

So, the life of a PG student at AIIMS Delhi is extremely tiresome yet rewarding as you go through millions of emotions, manage, frustrate, and still enjoy the challenging environment.
