AIIMS all over India have some of the best hostels, but none can compare with the facilities at AIIMS Delhi hostels. I completed my MBBS from AIIMS Patna, so I’ll inform you a bit about our hostels-
The boys’ hostels do not follow any in-time. This is because the college library is functional 24*7, so the boy students are not bound to hostel timings. Boys can bring their relatives to their hostel room, but they need to mention it in the guards’ register. Girls aren’t allowed in boys’ hostels, and vice versa. The girls’ hostels are comparatively more strict and restrictive.
Having said all this, AIIMS hostels are filled with all the freedom and necessary facilities. Its hostels will be the last reason for you to dislike an AIIMS.
My sister was a student at AIIMS Bhopal and shared her hostel experience here. She claimed there was no such freedom or relaxation and the students here are treated as high schoolers. You are required to inform the warden of your to and fro trips. The time to enter the hostel is 7 pm. The food is served in the hostel itself and you don't have to go to the dining halls. Most of these rules are applicable during the first year only.
After the first year, you will experience a sense of freedom. Rules of boys and girls hostel have been listed separately below.
Boys
Girls
All in all, hostel rules are pretty restrictive for AIIMS other than Delhi.
