How is the EC dept. at CUSAT?

One of my friends completed his BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from CUSAT.  He was extremely disappointed with the standard of academics there and even warned his friend from joining it.

• The quality of education imparted is poor but the exams conducted are very challenging. The grading is also tough and getting good marks is very difficult.
• There is no transparency in checking of exam papers and often favoritism can be seen.
• The recruitment process of the professors is also manipulated and many get back door entry through political influence.
• There is rivalry between the permanent professors and the students who are victims of these conflicts.
• The campus placement opportunities are non-existent and companies rarely recruit students for core jobs.

It’s best to go for a different department or a different institute altogether.
