What are the hostel facilities in Jadavpur University hostel like as compared to NIT Durgapur hostel?

I am an alumni of NIT Durgapur. As I have never been to JU hostels, I can tell you about the condition of hostels in my college.

The fresher rooms are much better than those allotted to senior boys. Hall 9 consists of four-seater rooms which were allotted to me, back when I was a fresher. These rooms are small. However, they are still bigger than the four-seater rooms we were allotted during the second and third years. 

Presently, freshers are allotted Hall-11 which is newly built and has all the facilities. It is well-built. During the fourth year, you will be allotted single-seater rooms. These single-seater rooms are below expectations. They are quite old. 

Here are some facilities provided in hostels-

1. LAN/Wifi Connectivity
2. Clean drinking water via water coolers
3. Common washrooms for each wing
4. Mess for each hall
5. Sports facilities

The hostel facilities at NIT Durgapur aren’t really good, especially for a college of national importance.
