How is CUSAT IT branch for placement?

IT placement at CUSAT is great. But go for IT, only if it interests you. The same goes for any branch. Pursue a field, in which you are interested. Discussed below are a few of the aspects of the placement at CUSAT.

Eligibility for Placement:

• For IT/CS jobs, students from CS, IT, EC, and EE branches can apply for both the campuses, i.e. CUSAT, CUSEK. 
• In certain instances, eligibility is granted to students from an MCA and an M.Tech background as well.
• Students travel from CUCEK to CUSAT exclusively to attend the placement cells.
• However, the eligibility criteria differ from company to company, but a good GPA (let's say greater than 8.3) can give you the confidence to sit in front of literally any company that shows up for placements. 
• Once you manage to match their eligibility criteria, you'd see no one there would care about your IT or CS background. Both branches are given equal importance.
• If you are deemed eligible for placement, you will only be judged based on your programming skills and personality. Past academics, CGPA, backlogs, factors like that won’t matter much.
