Why is IIIT Allahabad IT a favourite among the people even when its cutoff is around 12k, when compared to CSE at other good NITs like Nagpur (6.5k), Bhopal (9.5k), and Surat (9.5K)?

There are several reasons for IT in IIIT Allahabad to gain popularity among students. The table below gives a brief level of comparison among IIIT Allahabad and three NITs, Nagpur, Bhopal, and Surat.

• There are a total of 180 seats in IT at IIIT Allahabad. This is 3 times the number of seats in CSE at NITs. So, there is a greater chance of getting selected for IT at IIIT Allahabad.
• There are no state quota seats in IIIT Allahabad, which is a great benefit for students’ all-over India. Considering the fact that 90 seats are allotted to students in UP and the rest 90 is available for all other students, is a huge competition that may result in a much higher cut-off. This is not the case in IIIT Allahabad.
