If you are confident about yourself and can prepare yourself mentally for a year of hardcore preparation for JEE (Mains), then it is definitely recommended to take a drop and aim for older IIITS, NITs or may be even IITs.

A four year degree will make your career and will put you on a path from where it is difficult to turn back. Thus it is imperative to make a sound decision, a decision for which you should not regret later.

Talking of IIIT Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, it offers a B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communications Engineering only. The facilities, equipment and instruments required for a computer science student will be provided as any other institute.
