IIIT Bhopal is a national institute of importance and is better than most private colleges. Here's what you need to know:

Placements

IIIT Bhopal has emerged at a faster rate than most NITs and IIITs since its establishment in 2017.
The highest package offered was 80+ LPA (revised) by Atlassian for the role of a software engineer to one of our super seniors this year.
The average package is 16.5 LPA and the median salary is 15 LPA, which is better than most NITs and IIITs.
Companies like Amazon also recruit from IIIT Bhopal. 23 students were selected for a pre-placement offer of 45.5 LPA this year.

Academics

Academics are average here, and IIIT Bhopal shares some faculties with MANIT Bhopal.
IIIT Bhopal's mentor institute is MANIT Bhopal, and classes are held in the NTB building on the MANIT campus.

Hostels

Hostels are provided only in the first year in RGPV, which is 20 km away from IIIT Bhopal.
You are advised to choose the hostel in the first year as it offers an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to make friends.
From the second year onwards, you have to live in flats near MANIT on your own.
Seniors will be there to provide you with the best accommodation.

Clubs

IIIT Bhopal has many coding, spiritual, and technical clubs that conduct contests and provide guidance to develop your skills.
There are also many sports events throughout the year like Inter-IIIT.

If you are confused between a college with a lower branch and IIIT based on placement records, choose IIIT Bhopal, which offers only three branches: CSE, IT, and ECE.

IIIT Bhopal is a decent institute and is considered to be of a premier grade, but not as good as some excellent IIITs and other old premier institutes. The table below gives a brief overview of the institute.

Key highlights:

The curriculum of IIIT Bhopal is moderate and better than the academics of most NITs, but not as good as some excellent IIITs.
Most classes of IIIT Bhopal are taken by faculties of MANIT, except the core subjects, which are usually taken by IIIT faculties. The core faculties of IIIT are not that good, but MANIT professors who give lectures in IIIT Bhopal are excellent and quite helpful.
MANIT organizes many events throughout the year in which IIIT students are allowed to take part. But, IIIT students cannot be a part of the clubs of MANIT.
The hostel of IIIT Bhopal is a major drawback. It doesn’t have a hostel, and students have to reside in the hostel of RGPV. Those hostels are quite miserable and lack basic facilities like clean drinking water, first aid, proper food, almirah, etc. There is no proper transportation from the hostel to the institute. It is better to take a private hostel or paying guests near MANIT, rather than taking the RGPV hostel.
Although there are some problems in IIIT Bhopal, there are several positives of being in the institute too. Students of IIIT Bhopal have participated in the technical fest of IIT Kanpur, and have excelled in many events.
Students of IIIT Bhopal are quite good in almost all factors, with the exception of a few obsessive students which every institute has. Both in studies and extracurricular activities, IIIT Bhopal students are quite capable.

Considering the above factors, there are several positives and negatives of being in IIIT Bhopal. But, being a newer institute, it is quite good, and students usually have good reviews of fun and enjoyment, being in the institute.
