• Government and Public Sector: These sectors provide more jobs in the electrical field. If you secure a decent GATE score, you will get a lot of interview opportunities in the PSUs. There are very limited opportunities for electronics in the public sector.
• Private Sector: It is the opposite here. The electronics sector is much ahead in the private sector. You will find a lot of companies providing good salary packages in electronics than electrical. However, the job is not core electronics but software profile.
• Faculty: The faculty at NIT Jamshedpur is better in the electrical branch than the electronic branch.
• Laboratories: Electrical branch has better labs than the electronic branch.
• Academic Curriculum: Electrical branch has a lot more pressure than the electronic branch. A few senior faculty members of the electrical branch will make you cry while in the electronic branch, you can secure good marks even by studying less.
