Which NIT is better, NIT Patna or NIT Jamshedpur?

NIT Jamshedpur is much better than NIT Patna. NIT Patna lacks the necessary facilities. Moreover, its campus is very small in size. My brother completed his B.Tech Mechanical from NIT Patna, and this information was given to me by him.

NIT Jamshedpur has a better campus, and its placements are also comparatively better. But if you are an IES, GATE, etc. aspirant, NIT Patna is slightly better for you. It is located in the main city because of which, it has easy access to good coaching centers like Madeeasy and Ace.

NIT Jamshedpur is better than NIT Patna. It offers better facilities and placements.

Academics at NIT Jamshedpur isn’t stressful. There are no mandatory 75% attendance criteria. So, you will get a lot of time for self-study or work on your different hobbies.
The peer group is amazing. You will share your lectures with talented people from different backgrounds.
NIT Jamshedpur alumni base is huge. Most of the alumni are placed in good positions in the core sector.
NIT Jamshedpur placement 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 13.2 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 56 LPA.

In terms of academics, placements, and campus life NIT Jamshedpur is better than NIT Patna.

I have friends studying in NIT Jamshedpur and NIT Patna and both the institutes have good quality education. However national ranking and my friends’ experiences clearly depict that NIT Jamshedpur has an edge over the latter. Check out the following list of good reasons why you should join NIT Jamshedpur.

NIT Jamshedpur has Great industrial and academic tie-up, especially with TATA. Thus you have more chances to grab great placements no matter what branch you belong to.
The average package is about 12 LPA (2020 statistics) with the major recruiters being Amazon, BPCL, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Samsung, Oracle, etc.
In 2017, two students bagged a package of 67 LPA. All in all, NIT Jamshedpur has much better placement records than most NITs.
