B-Tech from Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (2016)
I have a few friends at GRIET, so I can give you some information about the institute.
Although GRIET is an autonomous college under JNTU, it follows the same syllabus as JNTU. Don’t expect you will learn anything differently at JNTU.
Most of the faculty members are good however there are some associate professors and professors who don’t have a thorough knowledge of the subject. They use slides to cover the whole syllabus and give assignments that are of no use.
One of my friends was from ECE and according to him, they were assigned 1 laptop per 2 students. This seems like a nice approach but the con with this is you don’t get to choose your partner and have to do lab work individually.
The canteen is divided into only girls and boys sections. You are also not allowed to use your phones in the canteen.
The socio-cultural life at the institute is also very good with the institute celebrating two major events; Pragnya and Pulse. Apart from these two, the institute also celebrates many smaller events and fests as well. The classes also go on during fests as well, as with the norm in many other colleges.
The rules and regulations can be a little strict. Some students adapt easily while others don’t.
The placements are good but most of the students are placed in service-based companies. The ratio of getting selected for placements is 1:5 out of 1000.
Sreenidhi also has drawbacks but it is slightly better than GRIET.
