Yes, NMIMS selects the best NMAT score for admission to its various management programs. NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test) is an entrance exam conducted by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) for admission to various MBA and other management programs offered by NMIMS and other B-Schools in India.

NMIMS considers the candidate's best score out of the multiple attempts made in the NMAT exam for admission. The selection process for admission to NMIMS typically involves the following stages:

  1. NMAT Exam: The first stage is the NMAT exam, which is conducted over a period of 75 days in multiple slots. Candidates can take the exam up to three times, and the best of the three scores is considered for admission.
  2. Shortlisting: Based on the NMAT score, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process. The shortlisting criteria may vary based on the program applied for and other factors such as academic background, work experience, etc.
  3. Group Discussion and Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are invited for a group discussion and personal interview, which is conducted to evaluate their communication skills, leadership potential, problem-solving abilities, and other relevant skills.
  4. Final Selection: Based on the performance in the NMAT exam, group discussion, and personal interview, the final selection is made for admission to NMIMS.

Therefore, if a candidate takes the NMAT exam multiple times, NMIMS will consider the best score out of the attempts made by the candidate for the purpose of shortlisting and admission.

One of my relatives attempted this exam twice. Here is his take on this.

  • NMIMS selects the best NMAT score.
  • NMIMS follows an adaptative paper pattern i.e., the scores will be scaled according to the difficulty level of the paper.
  • NMAT allows you to attempt the exam three times.
  • Try your best to understand the exam pattern and practice well as you get chances to redeem your scores twice. If you attempt more than once then the best NMAT score would be considered.
  • Sectional cut-off may or may not change and this will affect your selection into the second and third round which is the CDPI round.

You get a call for the CDPI round when you clear the sectional cut-offs along with the total cut-off with NMAT.
