A typical day at IIM ABC or XLRI is different for different people. The student crowd of these institutes includes all types of students. There are students who are only interested in academics and speads most of their types studying. The typical routine is different for students who are equally interested in academics as well as extracurricular. Each day at these institutes will bring some kind of challenge. You will have to do your assignment, prepare for case studies, study for surprise quizzes, and also keep up with the co-curricular. You will need to prioritize tasks according to urgency and often sleep will come last on the list.

My brother is an alumnus of XLRI. Here are some snipped of his experience at the institute.

  • A typical day varies in almost every academic term. The first term (first 4 months) is very hectic and brisk. You will not be able to comprehend what is happening at what time and there would be no voluntary organization and prioritizing of tasks.
  • You will have to work as per the deadlines for tests and assignment submissions. All in all, sleeping for more than 4 hours would be difficult. Although all that pays off well at the end of your respective course.
  • After the first term gets over, life seems to become simple again. The process of learning and studying is there, but there is plenty of time to manage your day and pursue your interests and hobbies.
  • There is always scope of enjoying with your friends, batchmates, and seniors.
  • You will come across some faculties whose wit will blow your mind. These are few things that will make at least a few classes enjoyable and sufferable at the same time.

Days at this college can be great, with a few bumps in between, but in the end, it will be all worth it.
