A regular MBA is a generalized specialization in the first year while it becomes domain specific during the second year. Business Analytics, on the other hand, is specifically for those interested in analytical industries and sectors. The past few years have witnessed an increasing demand for Analytics. This industry usually is extremely domain-specific and includes lots of database analysis. It revolves around every aspect of technology and restricts your knowledge base to an extent.
A general MBA is pure management science and is much more flexible than MBA in BA. It offers flexibility in thought and work process to a certain extent in contrast to MBA in BA. Additionally, IIM Bangalore’s credibility of being one of the best B Schools across the world and a top research institution helps. A diverse inclusion of work ex and skillful fresher makes it more special like Ivy League B Schools.
In conclusion, go for MBA in BA only and only if you have a genuine passion for numbers else go for a core MBA.
Data Science and Business Analytics is an online MBA program offered by NMIMS Mumbai. It is an 18 month-long program. I have a few friends who are pursuin this course. Their experience with the program has been quite good. The course is delivered mainly in two parts, i.e. learning videos on the platform and live sessions conducted by the professor during the weekend. The classes cover a wide range of topics. The live sessions featuring many reputed faculties and industry experts help in solving doubts. The program offers both management subjects and technical subjects like Machine learning and other Data Science related tools like Python, SQL, etc.
The evaluation is done through Internal Assessment/Case Study and a term-end examination for each course in the program. This course is great if you want to gain skills and knowledge in the field of AIML.
My answer is based on my sister’s comparison therefore is brutally honest and objective. Some people might still be praising the Business Analytics course but trust me it’s their see efforts to increase its market value only.
I personally am here to convince you against the Business Analytics course. My sister was a student in the same program and even after relentless efforts for 1.5 years, the results were nowhere near expectations. In Fact, she suffered throughout the course and her career was affected a lot in the process. The following points strongly support my opinion and might convince you of the same
Poor quality and substandard faculty who keep changing their rules
If you are really keen to pursue your career in Business Analytics, choose one area in analytics you want to specialize in and pursue that specific area only. For instance, you can choose a Big data or Machine Learning course and go through their concepts and look for jobs and internships in that area specifically. This is a faster and much more focused way rather than joining the CBA program.

Finance, marketing, operations, and strategy are included in TAPMI's PGDM Core program. The program is for students who want to learn a wide range of management principles and abilities that may be used in numerous fields.
KJ Somaiya's PGDM Core program is also a general management program. Students acquire critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in the program.
Narsee Monjee's Business Analytics program is ranked higher by most major ranking organizations than TAPMI's PGDM Core and KJ Somaiya's. Rankings shouldn't be the only factor when making a decision.
