Yes, ISB Hyderabad accepts final-year students for the YLP program. This program is also known as the Deferred program.

Like any other admission, this program also grants access to the MBA program. The only exception is that this admission is granted 2 years in advance. So it’s suitable for students who are still in college. The reason for giving 2 years time is to make sure that the students work and gain experience for 2 years. Only then will he be officially eligible for the ISB Hyderabad MBA program.

Eligibility

Anyone who is in their final year of study can apply for this program. These include

  • Candidates from bachelor's degree programs
  • Candidates from joint bachelor/graduate degree programs
  • Candidates from graduate degree programs who have not held a full-time work position.

Admission Process

The admission process for the YLP program requires the candidate to have

  • GMAT/GRE score
  • IELTS/ TOEFL (only in case your native language is not English)
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation (1 from an academic instructor and 1 from your employer)
  • Your current updated resume
  • Statement of Purpose

The candidates who are successfully screened through the above process are invited for a personal interview that is either offline or online via Skype. Once you complete both rounds successfully, you are granted pre-admission to ISB Hyderabad.

The YLP program is one of the most competitive programs as its candidates are students who have no work experience yet are desperate for admission. In order to compensate for the lack of work experience in the YLP admits, ISB looks for candidates that have excellent caliber. This can be evaluated through their accomplishments in life such as extracurricular experiences, social work, or extra certificates. Therefore only people from top institutions from all over India with exceptional profiles are able to make it.

Considering your profile, I will only give you the truth. Since you have no additional qualifications and lack in many areas the chances of admission are very less. However, don't get discouraged, instead work on your MBA essay. This might be your last chance for admission. You can show your talents and how you are a unique individual and can achieve great success. Another way is to go for the Early Entry Option which gives you additional 2 years to improve your profile.

Cleared SBI PO 2019 in 1st attempt

From my friends' experience, February or March is the best time to attempt your GMAT for YLP at ISB Hyderabad. The logic behind this has been explained below.

The Round 1 is a basic filter round that evaluates you on the basis of your essay, extracurriculars, and academic credentials.

Now, Round 2 evaluates you on the basis of your GMAT score, essays, LOR, resume and attachments of other valid credentials.

The usual gap between Round 2 and 3 is 4 months. Usually the time given for GMAT preparation and Round 2 application submission is 4 months. But if your profile is lacking in any aspect, finishing the GMAT by February and March gives you additional time to improve your profile through essays or other categories. This increases your performance in the Interview.

So the best way is to complete your GMAT before Round 1 to avail maximum benefits.
