Remarks :
The admission process was purely based on credit. The college management prepared a list of candidates based on their marks in the entrance exam and admissions were sorted accordingly. Although the college management employed a filtration based on merit, the management had its own norms on admitting a candidate based on their overall marks in entrance and in the qualifying examination
Course Curriculum Overview :
My criteria for the selection of this course was just employability. Back then I thought a degree in electrical and electronics engineering would give me sufficient qualifications in order to cope with the current competitiveness in the private sector, particularly in technical domains. The faculty-student ratio was 10:1 back then. It was a Christian management college and all the teachers, professors were well qualified for their roles of teaching with a post-graduate degree or two. University exams were there once a semester. The first two semesters had combined examinations. It was not that difficult to pass
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The course fee was around 1.5L per semester. Unfortunately or fortunately, I couldn't avail of a scholarship back then for my college studies. In addition, I was placed in infy Chennai in the final year. Years of work have made me a self-driven techy with up-to-date knowledge in information technology and a person with a pleasing personality.
Campus Life :
Yes, the college conducted yearly techfests and other days like college day, art day, engineers day and so more. The tech-fest in our college was tharang. It was usually conducted in mid-day of august every year. We have a 24*7 dedicated library with access to international, and national journals, technical books and a lot more. The college library played a major role in preparing student notes before a semester exam. The college conducted sports day and we were more competent in basketball, cricket, and football at the district and state levels. Fortunately, I was selected as a fast baller in the district team against all the self-financed engineering colleges. People in each class were fortunate enough to share their whereabouts and staff in a dedicated WhatsApp group, Our group named "Electrical thugs" was unforgettable with best buddies having a great time with classical jokes inundated with state-of-the-art rumours, metaphors and staff. Really those were the days ..
