Remarks :
The admission to my college is done based on merit in jee mains. The eligibility criteria is 75% in the class 12 board examination having physics, chemistry, and maths as compulsory subjects. The application form for jee mains is released on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) almost one month before the examination. The fees for the application form are different for different categories but mostly in the range of 500 to 2000. It is a user-friendly process and any candidate with having phone or laptop can fill out the form online.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course i.e. electrical engineering because I want to pursue my career in the government sector and electrical being a diverse branch offers many opportunities in public sector units. The faculty-student ratio is almost 1:100. The faculties are highly qualified having a strong academic background of MTech and PhD. The teaching method is quite good. The first-semester end-term examinations are scheduled in December and I have yet to attend them so I cannot comment on the evaluation process and grading system but I have heard from seniors that it will be a cakewalk if you follow the professor's notes religiously.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities are very good for CSE, and ECE branches and decent for other core branches. Many top companies come for recruitment and provide stipends ranging from 10,000 to 100,000. Some of them also give pre-placement offers to talented students. Some coding or core projects. re need to be done nicely for shortlisting.
Placement Experience :
The students are eligible for placements in the fifth semester itself if they meet the eligibility criteria. There is a wide range of companies visiting the campus. From IT giants like Google, Microsoft, DE Shaw, and JP Morgan to core companies like Mahindra, tata, reliance, and public sector units, you name it and we have it. The highest package offered to the batch of 2023 was 85 lakhs. The average package for all the branches is around 12 lakhs per annum. The profiles offered are graduate engineer trainee, software developer, member of technical staff, product manager, analyst, etc. Approximately 80 % of students who sit for placements get placed. My plans after getting my btech degree are to get a good job with a decent package and if God wishes, I would like to explore the world of entrepreneurship.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee hike is around 10% every year. The cost to study for general category students having an annual family income of more than 5 lakhs is around 9- 10 lakhs while if the income falls in the category of 1-5 lakhs, two-thirds of tution fees is remitted which cuts down the cost to around 5 lakhs. The tution fees of SC and ST students is 0. The scholarship opportunities for general-category students are very limited.
Campus Life :
The annual fest of my college is maffick and is conducted in February. The tech fest is technosearch and students wait for October to participate in the breathtaking event. There are around 30,000 Books available in the library. The classrooms are equipped with a projector, digital screen, whiteboard, fans, lights, mic, and unlimited wifi. The classrooms are quite spacious and airy. There is one sports complex having all sorts of indoor and outdoor games ranging from chess, and tennis to basketball, and football. There are a plethora of cultural and technical societies and clubs. The official cultural club Robaroo and dramatics club Ae se Aenak, and technical societies like Vision, IEEE, IBC, and Pixel for photography enthusiasts are some of the popular choices among the students. The new startup of Manit, Pl Education Limited is run by students for the students and is progressing very well.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel room is a triple seater having all the basic amenities with a high-speed LAN network. There are common bathrooms which are cleaned regularly. The mess food is decent and the menu covers the cuisine of all Indian states ranging from famous south Indian dishes like dosa, and idli to the taste of North India like dal makhani, and panner. The registration for a hostel is done after getting admission to the college in offline mode. It is quite affordable.
