Remarks :
We must have completed your 10+2 or equivalent examination from the Science stream. We must have achieved the minimum percentage in the 12th class which is 75% to appear in the JEE Main exam. There is usually no specific age limit for B.Tech courses. The admission process is way too smooth. We have to just fill admission document on the JOSAA portal and there is a physical verification within a couple of months. The application fee depends on the category of the applicant and application dates are also shared on the NTA official sites. Yes, I availed of reservation benefits as I am from the SC category. SC students have cutoff marks around 55%ile in JEE Mains and I got my college at 90%ile. Yes, there are some improvements that I want to see in the admission process. The 75% criteria in the 12th class to appear in JEE Mains exam should be removed as some students dont take 12th class seriously and focus mainly on JEE preparation.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because my parents wanted me to do this course. I personally had some interest in technology. So I wanted to learn new things about the technology used around us. The faculty-student ratio is not as bad as it is 20:1. Most of the faculty has done PHD and some are doing M Tech from the same college. Generally, the term exams are conducted every month in the semester if the semester is 3 months and it is not difficult to pass these term exams. We can pass the exams just by studying one day before the exam.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are not that good for my college and it also depends on the branch of the student, Yet students can apply for the internship through online portals. Companies like Microsoft, Airtel etc. have given internships to students but not that much time.
Placement Experience :
Only the 7th and 8th-semester student is eligible for the placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, BSNL, TCS, Maruti, Mahindra etc. visited in previous years. The highest package was 42 lakhs and the lowest was 4 lakhs. The average percentage of students getting placements is 80%.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is no fee hike policy in my college and the total fee for the course is 807000 for a general category with an annual income greater than 500000. The fees also depend on the category of the student and details are given on the official sites of NIT KKR.
Campus Life :
The campus life is not that good but it did not meet my expectations. One thing I liked here was that the campus is very green. The college has many cultural clubs like MAD, Photog, SPIC etc. which we can join for other activities. Cultural fests like Confluence and Technical fests like Techspardha are organised every year in October and February respectively and these clubs play a major role in these fests. The library in my college is very good. Most of the books can be found in the library and the ventilation facility is also good in the library. The classrooms are also way better than I expected. We have AC and big classrooms and rooms also have projectors. The sports facilities provided here are also good. We have teams for all the sports like cricket, football, kabaddi, basketball etc. and we also have coaches who help in getting better in that sport. Social Clubs and groups are discussed above but I will mention some others like ELAD, HLAD, SUC, SAE, LSD etc.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities provided are not that good in the first year but get better in 2nd or 3rd year. First-year hostels are three-seater. Second and third-year hostels have single rooms. The meal quality gets worse with time as we change the hostels. The first year hostels have good taste meals but 2nd year hostel meals are not that good. To register for hostels, the person has to physically come to college and do the required as the staff says for registration. No, I did not rent any room or PG.
