Remarks :

I appeared for the JEE Mains Exam. It is conducted throughout the country by NTA. After that 6 rounds of cut-off are released followed by 2 Spot Rounds. The Cut-off varies for each course for every NIT. If the percentile score is above 95, then there is the possibility of getting admission, otherwise over has to depend upon reservation or admission in lower NITs.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is being updated with every coming year, to provide the students the best experience. The faculties of the Mechanical Department know their subjects well and almost everyone is a Ph.D. holder from IIT. Exams are conducted twice in a semester, and can easily be scored well if a student properly prepares for the exam. Overall, the faculty is really helpful.

Internships Opportunities :

For the internship opportunities, you need to find the internships yourself, as only a few companies come for on-campus recruitment for internships. Other than that, I can't say much as I am in 2nd year only.

Placement Experience :

The mechanical department has a good placement record, as 95% of students got placed with an average package of around 9 Lpa. Even the highest package was 24 Lpa, with companies like Maruti Suzuki, Accenture, BPCL, etc. Visits the campus.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

NITs are really affordable even if compared with IITs. If the family income is less than 5 lpa, or comes under some certain quota, then fee waiver is applied and amounts to almost nothing, when compared to private colleges.

Campus Life :

There are 2 fests that take place in a single year, out of which one is a cultural fest and the last one is a technical fest. Other than that, there are several Clubs for students to take part in. There is a library, although it is not open for 24 hours. Classrooms are well maintained and well lit, and have every important amenity that a student would require. Sports is also encouraged, as the inter-NIT tournament takes place and fests also take place.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are okayish, and the food is also just something to survive on, though there is variety in food. Hostels are affordable, as only 11000/- is the rent for a single semester, and mess rent is also only 25000/- per semester, and if not eaten, then a refund is also provided at the end of the year.
