Remarks

I have gotten calls from IIM Indore and IIM Kozhikode apart from IIM Lucknow. I chose IIM Lucknow for it's academic rigor and also being ranked higher than the other IIMs. The eligibility is decided through the CAT exam and one-on-one interviews. Cutoffs can be as high as 99th percentile. Admission experience is very smooth. There are some documents to get before admission. But this is usually streamlined and very easy to accomplish.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

There are about 60 students in each classroom and ratio from girls to boys is 1:3. There are people from all over the country, from different educational, cultural, regional and occupational backgrounds. Peer learning is important in the culture of our college. Students attend the classes well and participate in the discussion which is encouraged by the marks given for class participation

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The college achieves 100% placements every year in summer placements with stipends over 1L. It can go from 75K to 3L, with 1.5 L as average. Most preferred companies are from Strategy and consulting such as the Big 4, marketing, operations and product managment, companies such as Bain, BCG, ITC, HUL, Microsoft, and so on. Around 200 students receive a PPO every year. Internships are good and often better than other courses.

Placement Experience

2.5

Final placements usually start around January. It takes about 2 weeks for the process to finish. Placements are 100% every year. CTC can range from 17LPA, with an average of 30LPA to 65L domestic and 1.3Cr in international offers. Placement process is transparent as most of it is conducted by students themselves and the placement committee works hard to ensure every student is placed.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee comes to around 23 lakhs. Other IIMs of the same caliber such as IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore has the similar fee structure as well and is the same for all categories. There are some scholarships that student can avail based on their academic performance and financial situation

Campus Life

2.5

There are multiple badminton courts, a swimming pool, a gym, an auditorium and a library with access to many third party publications and case studies. The campus is about 200 acres. The distance is about 500m from the hostels by average. You cannot bring motorbiikes or cars inside the campus. Bicycles are allowed. Relatives can visit and there is a guest house that can be booked for their accommodation. There are a few student run food joints in the campus. College has a dedicated medical center with a doctor present for almost the entire day.Campus life is pretty good. You have most amenities that you require and the campus is very beautiful for morning and evening walks. There is a busy nightlife. There is late mess and many spots to hangout. There are many cultural events such as Ganesh Chathurthi, Rakshabandan, Onam, Pongal, Diwali and other major festivals. Our campus hosts sports meets, cultural competitions and Manfest varchasva which is our MBA fest where students from all over the country come to participate. There are more than 30 clubs and committees in the college. Placement committee, Disha (placement training), academic groups such as marketing and operations, and so on. We have a student exchange program where students go to colleges all over Europe. The fees is from our college itself. You can refer the IIM website for more details on the colleges involved in STEX.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostels are separate for boys and girls with single occupancy. Entry is permitted for any student to any hostels. There are 18 hostels. Hostel allocation is random in first year. Students can select the rooms they want in second year in an FCFS basis. There are no timings in the hostel. There is one common mess hall for all the students. Bill for the mess is made and paid separately. Menu changes often and the quality is good. There is one guard present in every hostel. You have to buy your own coolers. There is no room sharing option in the hostels. There is a common room in every hostel with some type of indoor games in it such as carroms, table tennis and pool tables. Bed, chair, study table and some cupboards are given for every student in the hostel. Washrooms are common and there are 4 in every floor

Exam Structure

Admission process was with CAT exam and then personal interviews. Usual scores are around 99th percentile to secure an admission. There are other programs offered by the college that works based on work experience. There is also a PhD course in the college as well.

The course that im perusing I.e b.cơm is quite tough, we have a very vast subject in each semester and are provided with bunch of assignments by our professors. The good aspect of this course as per me is, its syllabus depth and the bas aspect of this course as per me is its wide syllabus. Classes occurs 6 times in a day except for Sunday and other registered holidays, Classes starts from 9:30am till 3pm, in between we get lunch break of 40mins, and each classes has the time duration of 40 mins. The teaching methodology of teachers are very basic, through projecter they explain us the topics, through ppt and self made notes, The faculties I admire the most is our hod, she’s friendly and has a great mode of topic explanation. There’s no faculty member that i do not admire. Yes, there is a mendatory attandence limit, students have to surpass thè attendance of 75% and above for us to write semester exam, if not we’re handled with complicated assignments for us to get our admit card.

Placement Experience:

The final placements starts in November. The placement season officially gets over by March. Almost everyone gets placed by March but the college keeps the placements open for another month for the few who couldn’t get placed and eventually everyone gets placement. The average CTC stands at ₹17 LPA with highest being ₹65.6 LPA. The most preferred companies for my course are fmcg. Their average CTC stands at around ₹18.8 LPA. The role of the placement committee is to seamlessly hold the placement processes and to maintain order. The process is sometimes biased but mostly transparent.

Final placement starts in November and goes upto February. Most of the batch gets placed . For the ones which don't get placed college tries to help them out with references through alumni. Average CTC was 17.35 LPA last year, median was 16LPA. BFSI and IT/ITES are the most preferred. Placement committee helps the students in getting placed and they try to keep the process as transparent as possible. The faculty advisor for the placements also helps in the same.

Placement Experience:

1. The final placements generally start from the last week of August but can be delayed due to administrative reasons. The start month generally varies from August to October. 2. Mostly all students are placed. About 10-15 % of interested students were unplaced in the last batch. 3. The average CTC was about 15 LPA. The highest was about 75 LPA for this year. The lowest was 3.5 LPA. 4. All companies with a good salary pay and good benefits were preffered. 5. Such companies include Oracle, Amazon etc. 6. The placement team plays a very crucial role in coordinating the process. In our college, the team comprises of elected student body headed by a professor incharge. The placement team this year was amazing as this year was very challenging due to recessions. , the placements were still very good as compared to other colleges.
