Remarks

I didn’t score well in CAT so many colleges I couldn’t apply to. But scored well in XAT, got call letters from XLRI and IMT. Didn’t apply to XIBM as I had heard some bad things about the placement committee and the bullying. Heard the same about IMT but I didn’t get into XLRI so IMT was my only option. XLRI I think I didn’t get in because my marks were only 94%ile if I had more I would have a good chance. Also my HR interview was very stressful and I cracked under pressure. BM interview was good but I think me not having studied math since 10th grade played a role in me not getting BM. IMT interview process was very chill. I had a good time, I was relaxed so performed well.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

There are about 60 students in each class. Total strength is about 750 There are 30% of girls in the batch and 70% boys. The cultural diversity is also good, many people are from different parts of the country. Like Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu , Kerala and many others For some subjects some students attend only because of attendance.

Internships Opportunities

2

Yes. Internship process is going on right now. The data for this year I’m not sure about. Many seniors converted PPOs. Some preferred companies are Asian Paints, Pernod Ricard, Amazon, Wipro. Deloitte hires in Bulk.

Placement Experience

2

Average CTC is about 16- 17 lakhs and the highest is about 65 lakhs. College tries to place every student. The process is transparent but some discrepancies are there which need to be corrected. Placement committee gets some advantages.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Fees is about 21.8 Lakhs and there is a scholarship for women students so I will be getting back 25% of the fee. So my cost will be around 17 - 18 lakhs.

Campus Life

2.5

TT, badminton, basketball. Cricket and football ground. Volleyball as well. Very huge library and good books. Huge auditorium with AC as well. Relatives can visit campus but can’t stay. There is an ambulance on campus and a doctor who comes everyday for 2 hours. Very good. There is an international exchange program where students can go and students from abroad come as well. Partner university in US, UK, France, etc. the cafeterias are open till 5 AM, close from 5 - 8 and open up again by 9 AM. There are many places inside and outside the campus where students can hangout. Passion is the best fest. 3 day event with everything. Anuv Jain, The Local Train, Zahir Khan. I’m part of Student Council. I do believe being in club / committees help as we get to learn a lot and get a lot of exposure to sponsorship, designing, marketing etc.

Hostel Facilities

2

The boys and girls hostel are separate. Girls are allowed to enter boys hostel but boys are not allowed to enter girls hostel. There is also CDL for 1st year boys to stay in. There are about 7 blocks for boys and 5 for girls. K block is the best as it was newly built and it’s very big. But all hostels are decent. Hostel allocation is randomly done by the student council. For the 2nd year students can pick a roommate. Students can enter and leave whenever they want. Full freedom. There are exit timing restrictions on the campus though. Students have to be on campus by 11 pm or after 5 Am. But students can request for late entry if they have good reasons. There is security and every hostel has guards near the entry itself. Mostly shared rooms. WiFi, cupboards, table, chair, WiFi, bed are all given. Mattress we have to get. We have a game room. With TT tables. There are only shared washrooms. No personal washrooms. There are about 3 bathrooms and 3 toilets on each floor of girl hostel. Where about 20 girls stay.

Exam Structure

So I applied to IMT after my XAT results came out. Had to submit my documents online . Then got call letter for IMT and was asked to fill preferred city for interview, then came interview day, finished the interview and waited for a while after which results were announced. And I got an offer letter along with that I got a fee breakup and instructions on when to pay the fee. Document submission etc.

Faculty

2.5

The curriculum here is easy, but the high amount of work that comes with it is quite high, especially in first year. The good aspect is that the curriculum is updated, reflecting the skills needed for the current market place. The bad aspect is that it is almost impossible to finish the entire subjects in the curriculum considering the little time given to each course.

Sumer Internship Process starts from August, You can sit in for the SIP. The highest stipend for SIP ranges from Rs.5000-10000 and lowest is as much as Rs.3,000. More than 10 Companies including startups visit the campus. There were few companies which hired students for unpaid internship. So the banks such as ICIC, Kotak hires in bulk for internship as well as final placement. The Monthly stipend ranges from 20 to 40 thousand. Around 5-10 % People got PPO from their summer internship. So once you got the PPO you can only sit for dream companies Process, these criteria's are set by the Placement Committee and Chairperson of Bluebook. Internship scenario is mostly same for every course except HR. Mostly student can sit for any company until and unless company specifies about any particular course.

Final placements start in November adn about 80-85% of the people in campus get placed via it. I am not aware of any of the details surrounding average, lowest and highest as of now. The Placement Committee plays a vital role in getting these companies on board to recruit however they are not at all transparent and show a high degree of preference towards their own members and push for them to be included in GDPIs of companies at the expense of others.

Placement Experience:

1. The final placements generally start from the last week of August but can be delayed due to administrative reasons. The start month generally varies from August to October. 2. Mostly all students are placed. About 10-15 % of interested students were unplaced in the last batch. 3. The average CTC was about 15 LPA. The highest was about 75 LPA for this year. The lowest was 3.5 LPA. 4. All companies with a good salary pay and good benefits were preffered. 5. Such companies include Oracle, Amazon etc. 6. The placement team plays a very crucial role in coordinating the process. In our college, the team comprises of elected student body headed by a professor incharge. The placement team this year was amazing as this year was very challenging due to recessions. , the placements were still very good as compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience:

While the college has a very good placement record, it still does not place nearly 5-10% of its students, and those students go through all sorts of workshops, mock interviews, and one-on-one mentoring by the instituition to ensure they get placed. Average CTC is around INR 19 LPA. The placement committee plays a crucial role in coordinating the process and, while many see it as transparent, some students feel that improvements can be made in terms of communication concerning criteria placed on placements.

Almost everyone gets placed in placement season itself. Only a very handful remain unplaced. College uses its strong alumni and industry connect to support students throughout. The most preferred companies are from FMCG. They give good package and relevant industry exposure.
