Remarks

Applied to almost all older IITs and a few NITs like Trichy, warangal and Surathkal. I kept this college as the 4th NIT among my list. Got this college, was initially dissatisfied because of its NIRF ranking, but MNNIT is altogether a different world. The talent pool this college has is of different level. Be it technical activities, coding culture and what not. So I got to know why this college is Rank1 amongst all NITs in terms of placements. I got admission in Information Technology branch. Currently this branch is discontinued in the college due to its extreme similarities with the CSE branch. I got some good faculties but a really good peer group. I choose this college only for the reason of good placements and I was not disappointed. You should have a rough rank of about 3000-4000 in JEE Mains to crack CSE in this college which will be a good platform to get great opportunities. The admission process was smooth and I did not face any difficulties. It was majorly managed by the JOSAA.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

1. Generally, about 70 students sit in a class. My specialization has a total of 133 students. All the specializations in BTech have a strength of about 100-300 candidates. 2. The girl:boy ratio was 1:5 roughly for the course and the college overall. 3. The cultural diversity of the class was very good. It has students from all across India from various places. It also had some students from foreign locations. 4. The peer group was amazing with very intelligent and hardworking people. Ofcourse we had peer learning due to presence of a good peer group. 5. No such marks for participation, but 75% attendance was a mandate. 6. Some students preferred the natural lecture method and regularly attended the classes. However for some, it was the online new methods of learning which helped them.

Internships Opportunities

2

1. No, the summer internships was about 40% 2. All the internships were paid only. The college did not allow unpaid internships. 3. The average stipend was 45000 per month. The highest was around 1,77,000 per month and the lowest was 15000 per month. 4. All companies with good pay and brand name were preferred. 5. Such companies were Oracle, Amazon etc. Their monthly stipend was around 100000 per month. 6. The average conversion rate is about 80-90 %. 7. The internship scenario was better in CSE related courses.

Placement Experience

2.5

1. The final placements generally start from the last week of August but can be delayed due to administrative reasons. The start month generally varies from August to October. 2. Mostly all students are placed. About 10-15 % of interested students were unplaced in the last batch. 3. The average CTC was about 15 LPA. The highest was about 75 LPA for this year. The lowest was 3.5 LPA. 4. All companies with a good salary pay and good benefits were preffered. 5. Such companies include Oracle, Amazon etc. 6. The placement team plays a very crucial role in coordinating the process. In our college, the team comprises of elected student body headed by a professor incharge. The placement team this year was amazing as this year was very challenging due to recessions. , the placements were still very good as compared to other colleges.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

1. For general category, the tuition fees is Rs 93,500 for each semester. I'm not aware of the fees for other categories but I assume it follows the standard government relaxations. 2. The total fees I paid was close to Rs 8.5 lakhs that included the tuition fees as well as the mess fees. 3. I assume the fees was standard for all NITs so it was comparable to other NITs. 4. Other expenses are roughly around Rs 2000 if you assume a trip to Civil Lines every weekend. No transport expenses are required as such, hostels are present in the Campus only. 5. The fees does vary according to the government norms. 6. The college provide various scholarships to the students. I am aware of some like the merit scholarships which is provide to top 5 students of each branch every semester.

Campus Life

2.5

1. Sports clubs are available. The facilities are decent. 2. It does have a separate Gym for men and women. It has almost all the facilities. 3. No, a swimming pool is in construction. 4. They are pretty decently managed. Access to third party resources is available. 5. The campus of college is fairly big standing at about 220 acres. The distance is roughly 700 metres. Students generally walk or use a cycle for commuting. 6. Keeping personal motorised vehicles is not allowed in the campus. 7. They can visit the campus and stay in the college guesthouse. 8. There are lot of food joints. Various famous canteens like Cafe 96, Yashnath canteen, Tirath canteens are present. 9. It does have a medical centre. A general physician is always available. Specialised doctors come in shifts.1. The overall campus life was very good. Most students study or roam around the campus. 2. The nightlife is decent. Boys meet and group in canteens where sometimes cricket matches can be presented. 3. Students regularly visit outside the campus. The go to places to visit are Civil lines, Sangam, or they can visit the old side of city like Katra etc. 4. The locality is generally safe. However, it was recommended to come back to campus by 10 PM in the night. 5. The major cultural fest was the Culrav which was a 3 day event including various performances, music and dance events. Many celebrities have also visited during this event. Some famous ones include Farhan Akhtar, Mohit Chauhan etc. Apart from it, various technical fests like Avishkar and Hack36 used to take place encouraging technical expertise. 6. Major clubs and committees are dance committees like western, marathi etc, the music club Nishaad and various dramatics clubs. Also, other clubs like robotics, coding etc were present. 7. Coding club and other important clubs were needed for technical growth. The cultural clubs were also needed for the overall growth in personality. 8. Not a lot of student exchange was observed during my tenure. It used to happen sometime back maybe.

Hostel Facilities

2

1. Yes. No boys are allowed to visit the girls hostel and vice versa. 2. There were a total of 9 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels. For boys the best hostels were the new boys hostels which were very newly constructed. They were 3 in total and 13 floors each giving a breath-taking view of the Prayagraj city and the Ganges. 3. Hostel allocations are done using the CPI basis where you can select your partner and the room will be allotted bases on the best CPI amongst you. 4. The hostel fee was 10000 per semester. It was uniform for each candidate, whether he is allotted a single, double or triple occupancy room. 5. The hostel timings were flexible for boys. However for girls it was 10 PM when the hostels were closed after that. There is no concern of freedom inside hostel premises. 6. No, the fooding is included separately through the mess fees payment which is done each semester. The amount is 15000 per semester. 7. Yes, each hostel has their own mess where most of the students eat. 8. The food quality is average. Not very much satisfied with the food quality. 9. The hostels are fully guarded with security guards present. No major threat has been observed in the recent times.1. The rooms are available as single, double and triple occupancy depending on the hostel. 2. Wifi, Almirah, Study Table, Chair, Bed and lamp lights provided in the rooms. There is geyser in common washroom. 3. Yes, there are common rooms available. There are also game rooms that are present. 4. The washrooms are common, generally 1 or 2 depending on the hostel. 5. Its roughly around 7-8 rooms sharing a washroom. The washrooms are cleaned properly.

Exam Structure

1. The admission process constituted of clearing the JEE Mains exam. The cutoff rank to get admission in the college was roughly around 33000 general for the Production and Industrial Engineering. You need to achieve rank under 7000 to get into circuital branches. JEE Mains is usually two times an year. The admission process starts from the JOSAA counselling. Generally the process completes by the end of July where all the JOSAA counselling rounds are complete. The session generally starts from the 1st week of August. 2. The exam that is preferred is JEE Mains. MTech candidates are selected using the GATE Exam. Other courses have their own set of exams. Many students also opt to also give BITSAT as the BITS are also a similar level colleges. Any percentile above 98 in JEE Mains is good enough to get admission into the college for the BTech course. 3. There is quota of foreign admissions using DASA. Apart from that, all admissions are done purely by the exam merit basis.

Faculty

2

The teaching is good and all faculties are so supportive and teach very well the college has school like environment and if anyone fell difficult to pass the exam or fail in exam the teacher will help them with good concern and care. The good aspect about my course is the subject are so interesting and effective but the bad aspect is that the duration of the course that my university provide only 3 months for 6 months semester and that semester will end in 4 months it will become very difficult to study and prepare for exams. Usually average students will have 6 classes per day and that will be from 9 to 3.45 every day. usually one free class will be provided to each class Teaching Methodology of faculties is they will try to cover all the portions before the exam but sometimes some topics left out then they will tell us to do presentation on it. I like many faculties and one special teacher is dr.saroja this teacher will be little strict but the way she teaches will be just like spoon feeding and very understanding. some teachers are there but i cant take names. when its comes to attendance if the teacher is strict the attendance is mandatory , if not it is okay with vailed reasons.

Placement Experience:

Final placements usually start around January. It takes about 2 weeks for the process to finish. Placements are 100% every year. CTC can range from 17LPA, with an average of 30LPA to 65L domestic and 1.3Cr in international offers. Placement process is transparent as most of it is conducted by students themselves and the placement committee works hard to ensure every student is placed.

More than 10 Companies including startups visit the campus. There were few companies which hired students for unpaid internship. So the banks such as ICIC, Kotak hires in bulk for internship as well as final placement. The Monthly stipend ranges from 20 to 40 thousand. Around 5-10 % People got PPO from their summer internship. So once you got the PPO you can only sit for dream companies Process, these criteria's are set by the Placement Committee and Chairperson of Bluebook. Internship scenario is mostly same for every course except HR. Mostly student can sit for any company until and unless company specifies about any particular course.

Placement Experience:

The final placements starts in November. The placement season officially gets over by March. Almost everyone gets placed by March but the college keeps the placements open for another month for the few who couldn’t get placed and eventually everyone gets placement. The average CTC stands at ₹17 LPA with highest being ₹65.6 LPA. The most preferred companies for my course are fmcg. Their average CTC stands at around ₹18.8 LPA. The role of the placement committee is to seamlessly hold the placement processes and to maintain order. The process is sometimes biased but mostly transparent.

Final placement starts in November and goes upto February. Most of the batch gets placed . For the ones which don't get placed college tries to help them out with references through alumni. Average CTC was 17.35 LPA last year, median was 16LPA. BFSI and IT/ITES are the most preferred. Placement committee helps the students in getting placed and they try to keep the process as transparent as possible. The faculty advisor for the placements also helps in the same.
