Prime factor of choosing Newcastle University was its course offering. I intended to do quantitative finance which was only offered by Newcastle University.
Course Curriculum
The course structure is very industry oriented. Professors and management always give priority to practical hands-on work. We had group based real time investment project. A value of GBP 50,000 was attached virtually as investment fund to each group. We were allowed to access a wide range of databases, for e.g., Bloomberg, DataStream, Fame, Compustat etc. Advanced statistical software - MATLAB, Stata, R etc. were included in the course. In addition, networking with industry leaders also part of the development process.

Faculty

The teacher-student relationship is very friendly there. The best part is professional culture among professors, teaching staff, and students. We were able to take one-to-one appointment with teachers for doubt clearance. Also, they generally respond back with email very fast.
Campus Life
In one word, superb!! I did not experience in my university life in India such facilities, even I did not hear story similar to that magnificent infrastructure.
Hostel
I did not stay at university hostel accommodation. It was expensive compare to other private accommodations. Cities with universities have plenty of private accommodations.
