French at Queen’s reflects the dynamism and cultural diversity of the French-speaking world, focusing on the language, culture, and society of metropolitan France, and opening up perspectives on a range of global cultures.
French language, written and oral, is at the center of the course. Students will also explore a variety of contemporary issues, historical periods, and geographical areas through a range of media, including art, cinema, linguistics, and literature. All students spend an academic year in a francophone country.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Post A-level French
ABB including A-level Fren
A minimum of a 2:2 Honours Degree provided any subject requirement

Indian students eligibility:

Applicants must have the following qualifications to be eligible for direct admission:

Three A levels
Between 30 and 36 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB).
The Standard Indian XII (10+2) examinations from CBSE, CISCE or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education are acceptable for admission to their Bachelor's degree programs.

An average mark of 70 - 85% or higher (best of 5 academic subjects) in the Standard Indian XII Higher Secondary School certificates awarded by the central boards (CBSE, CISCE) or a state board, or equivalent, with 75% or higher where subject requirements are stipulated (comparable with Grade B at A-Level).

Applicants will normally need to demonstrate a level of English equivalent to 6.5 IELTS or 90 TOEFL IBT (Internet-based test). However, some degree programs have higher or lower requirements.
