No, I didn't receive any scholarship.
I chose the university for its high global ranking (15th in the world) and excellent reputation. I was also impressed by their focus on psychiatric and neurological research which is what I am interested in pursuing.

I have chosen this university because of the immaculate course. The course has incredible flexibility as in Y2 you can choose very tailored modules to yourself after a Y1 which is a taster of the wide range of modules. These include: anatomy, biochemistry, genetics, neuroscience, pharmacology, cell biology among others. The campus is also situated in the heart of London with walking journey to attractions such as London eye, tower bridge etc.

More integrated curriculum with placement earlier on, rather than 3 years of pure science which I would not have enjoyed. London life seemed fun and exciting.

As an international student, I was not eligible for any scholarships for medicine
I chose King's College London for various reasons - its global and national ranking for Medicine at the time of application, reputation of the school, quality of education as well as benefit on studying in a city like London

King's was one of the dream colleges and the uni and programme is quite highly ranked in QS/ US news ratings. London seemed like the perfect city to explore and live in as a student.

I received the NERC ESRC funding through the LANDSLIP SHEAR project.
I did not choose the university. I chose the project and the professor(s). I was okay to be in any university which has a good global ranking and was based in UK or USA or New Zealand. I was open to applying for any university providing me with a funded opportunity to work on my interests under supervisors who have a good h-index.

Scholarship from Loughborough University but not going there.
Location, Rank, Course are good.

It's one of the top universities for Medicine in the UK. It's also one of the few universities that allow dissections (students dissecting bodies) rather than a prosection (a professor or clinician dissecting the body and students observe). The university is also in central London which was a great pro since I wanted to move to a city. This is also one of the few universities where students can start their medicine degree even if they're under 18, which was my case.
Name and status of the university for the interest of future employment, course applied to me and my interests personally and especially in further years. Balance of coursework and exams works in my favour.
I found the opportunity to live in London exciting. I think that King's College London is a reputable institution. I have heard good reviews about the student experience, the teaching staff, and the extracurriculars.
