This collection of master's degrees gives you the theoretical background and practical skills for a career tackling contemporary issues in Finance. Each course has been created in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Finance (CFA), so your modules also contribute towards the institute's own qualification, which you can work to complete after graduation. The Finance and Investment Banking course is offered by Nottingham Trent University.
Your first semester develops a strong core knowledge of institutional, accounting and financial modelling frameworks. You'll explore the operation of markets, their major participants and the regulatory environment, as well as building a firm understanding of corporate finance, basic accounting and financial analysis.
In your second semester you can deepen your core knowledge of Finance, or specialise by taking an Investment Banking or Accounting route. Finally, your third semester sees you undertake a major project, applying your skills in a real-world setting, conducting independent research or gaining an international perspective by working overseas.

Placement year opportunities
If you are starting your course in September, you can choose to add a year's work placement, making your master's a two-year course. It's a great way to put your learning into practice and gain valuable real-world experience to boost your career. We have extensive links with corporate partners who can offer placements, so we can help you find something perfect. If you undertake a placement, you must take up the Business Research Project in Semester Three.
If you're unable to take a full year's placement, but have completed at least 36 weeks, you can qualify for a Placement Diploma in Industrial Experience.
Career prospects
This route opens up a whole range of finance careers, including investment banking, pensions analysis and unit and investment trust management. Roles include financial manager, financial analyst or financial adviser.
Career development
As an integral part of the course, careers advisers will run a series of workshops where students can identify methods and strategies to enable them to effectively pursue their career goals. The workshops will focus on both home and international students and concentrate on developing skills and occupational awareness.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Bachelor's degree (honours) from a recognized institution or an equivalent degree from the university. or
- Appropriate work experience combined with a relevant qualification.
- If students have a Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) or PgD in Management from the University, gained within the last five years, they will be able to complete the MSc by attending the research methods sessions and completing a dissertation.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed the undergraduate degree(honours) from a recognized institution.
- Students should have appropriate experience in this field.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
