- Those who obtain a good score in PI are selected for admission.

IIHMR Jaipur Ph.D. Course Details
The course work of the PhD program lasts for three years divided into six semesters. At the end of each semester, a term examination is conducted. The PhD program consists of two phases.
First Phase: It involves course work followed by a qualifying examination.
Second Phase: It involves scholars for thesis work.
Compulsory Courses
- Candidates who pursue a PhD must have to take up core courses in Research Methodology, Epidemiology, Demography, Population Sciences, Statistics, Quantitative Techniques, Health Systems and Scientific Writing.
- Each student must take up courses for which credits are awarded.
- The prescribed course work must be finished by the students within two semesters.
Thesis Work
- A topic for research must be selected for continuing the work.
- A scholar will be appointed for supervision and coordination with the work.
- A Seminar will be held for the students to explain and discuss the research work.
- It is further followed by a Viva Voce where two examiners ask questions related to the research work.

- One fellowship of amount INR 1 Lakh is given to the best PhD scholar who exhibits high performance in the thesis and Research work.
- Another fellowship amounting to INR 1 Lakh is given to a 2nd-year student of other academic courses who exhibit good performance in studies as well as character.
