Dravidian University was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh through a Legislature Act in 1997 at Kuppam. The university consists of 30 academic departments and 4 centres which provide UG, PG and research programmes.
Dravidian University offers the following research programmes in various disciplines:
- Ph.D.
- M.Phil.

Those who wish to apply can register themselves for the courses upon submitting the prescribed application form upon completion along with the application fee of Rs. 500/- (for general/ BC category) and Rs. 400/- (for SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates) through DD.

M.Phil.:
Eligibility For regular
- Candidate must possess post-graduation degree from this university or any other recognized university with minimum 55% of marks in the concerned subject. 5% relaxation is given to SC/ST candidates.
- Candidate must qualify DURCET entrance test conducted by Dravidian University.
- Candidates should satisfy the Local or Non local status in Andhra Pradesh as laid down in Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions order, 1974.
Eligibility for part time
- Candidate who is working as a teacher in a Govt/Aided college offering PG / UG courses with 2 years of teaching experience as Permanent employee
- Candidate who working as a Junior Lecturers in Govt./Aided Junior Colleges with 2 years of teaching experience as Permanent employee
Ph.D:
Eligibility for full time
- Candidate must possess post graduation degree of this university or any other recognized university with minimum of 55% of marks in the concerned subject of post gradutaion. 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ST candidates.
- Candidate must qualify DURCET or GATE/UGC NET/SLET/CSIR Examination.
Eligibility for part time
- Candidate must be Teacher/Research Assistant/Research Fellow working in the Dravidian University with not less than two years of Regular Service
- Candidate must be Non-Teaching Staff of the Dravidian University with not less than 2 years of Regular Service
- Candidate must be A Teacher working in Dravidian University / other Universities recognized by UGC with 2 years of teaching experience as Permanent employee
- Candidate must be Junior Lecturers in Govt/ Aided Junior Colleges or Polytechnics/ DIET/PG Teachers equivalent to Junior Lecturers working in Govt./Aided Colleges with 2 years of teaching experience as Permanent employee
- Candidate must be Librarians / Deputy Librarians / Assistant Librarians/ Directors/ Deputy Directors/ Assistant Directors working in Govt/Aided Colleges / Govt./Aided Junior Colleges with 2 years of experience as Permanent employee
- Candidate must be Lecturers in Physical Education / Physical Directors working in Govt./Aided Colleges / Govt./Aided Junior Colleges with 2 years of experience as Permanent employee
- Candidates must be Permanent employees working in Reputed National/State Institutions with not less than 2 years of Regular service
- Candidate must be Permanent teachers working in Govt./Aided High Schools with not less than 5 years of Regular Service
- Candidate must be An Executive with a minimum of 10 years of service in Commercial Banks, Industries, Financial Institutions, Reputed Service Organizations, Central / State government Gazette and Non-Gazetted Officers
Dravidian University Ph.D Selection Process
- Selection of the candidate to the above mentioned courses will be based on the merit in the University Research Common Entrance Test (DURCET) conducted by the university
- If the candidates get same marks then the preference will be given to those who secure higher marks, if there is further tie then preference will be given to elder person.
- Selection of the foreign candidates to Ph.D. programme is done through personal interview by a Committee consisting of the Dean of Academic Affairs/ School Dean/ Head and Chairman, Board of Studies, and the guide

- Candidate can register themselves to the above mentioned courses after submitting the application fee of amount Rs. 500/- (for general/ BC category) and Rs. 400/- (for SC/ST/Differently Able candidates) through DD drawn in favour of the Registrar, Dravidian University, Kuppam payable at Andhra Bank, Dravidian University Branch, Kuppam - 0001539.
- If any student cancels his/her admissions after the commencement of classes, only 75% of Tuition Fee of that year will be refunded, even if the student discontinues in the first year or second year
