One of my friends is doing B. Tech at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, so I can provide you with some information about the college and how it functions.

The placement percentage of B.Tech students at Punjab Engineering College is 93%. In this percentage, all the students who have CGPA above 6.5 are eligible to sit for placement, also included in this. 

Companies that recapture B.Tech students are Exl Services, Alstom, Goldman Sachs, etc. The average package offered to students is below INR 10 LPA. 

Therefore, Electrical Engineering placements for B.Tech students at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, are decent. The package offered to students might be low, but almost every student gets placed.

Thapar Institute of Information Technology (TIET) has been ranked 2nd among 13 Indian Private Institutions by ‘THE’ Asia. They offer both BTech and MTech courses of 4 years and 2 years respectively. The learning process at Thapar for CSE is more inclined towards practical knowledge.

PEC Chandigarh

• The candidates must have a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 with PCM with a valid score in JEE Main.
• The cutoff required for Electrical engineering is 12781 - 17622.
• The total seats allocated is 37 per department. 
• The course fee required is INR 96,750.

TIET

• The candidates must have 60% marks in 10+2 with PCM with a valid score in JEE Main.
• The total fee for CSE is INR 3.25 LPA. 
• The seats available for the CSE course is 60.

It depends on the student’s preference of the subject with which they want to move their career further. Thapar Insitute is located in Patiala, on the other hand, PEC is located in the capital city i.e. Chandigarh, which can offer the students great advantages.
