Chitkara University was established in 2008 under the UGC act of 1956. The University is managed by Chitkara Educational Trust. It is a NAAC-accredited Government -recognized University. It has two schools under its management namely – Chitkara School of Engineering and Technology, Chitkara and School of Hospitality Management.

Chitkara University offers BE, ME and Ph.D. programs in various specializations. The University also offers 3-year B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration.

The Chitkara University offers BE course in 3 specializations. The courses are also offered through lateral-entry admission program for Diploma holders. The BE courses are offered in the Chitkara School of Engineering and Technology.

The basic eligibility for BE course is a candidate must have passed 10+2 examinations with minimum 60% marks and 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board or equivalent accepted by the University. For B.E (lateral-entry) admission, the candidate must have a Diploma in Engineering granted by the Board of Technical Examination of a State Government with minimum 60% marks.
