Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry is a Government aided educational institution situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The university offers various programs in the disciplines of horticulture, forestry and allied sciences. The university currently has three colleges based in Solan and Hamirpur. It was established in the year 1965.

College of Horticulture, Solan campus offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research level degree courses in various disciplines of Horticulture and Forestry. The institute currently offers eight M.Sc. programs, seven Ph.D. programs, a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Horticulture and two master degree courses in management and Agribusiness.
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to B.Sc. program is 10+2 in science or Agriculture stream with a minimum of 50% marks. For M.Sc. and Management programs, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with 60% marks. Ph.D. candidates must have a master’s degree in the relevant discipline with 65% marks. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of entrance test score and personal interview (for Ph.D. programs).

College of Forestry, Solan campus offers 13 M.Sc. programs, 10 Ph.D. programs, a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Forestry and a PG Diploma program in Medicinal & Aromatic Plants.

College of Horticulture & Forestry – NERI, Hamirpur campus offers 3 undergraduate level B.Sc. (Hons.) programs in disciplines including Horticulture, Forestry and Biotechnology.
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam with English, Physics and Chemistry as the compulsory subjects and Biology / Mathematics / Agriculture as optional subjects with 50% marks. Selection is carried out on the basis of marks secured by the applicants in the entrance test conducted by the university.
