Bangalore University offers following Scholarships to the deserving candidates:
- Government of India Post-matric Scholarship: Karnataka students belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes whose parent’s annual income is less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lacs
- Minorities Scholarships: The candidates belonging to minorities (i.e., Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Anglo-Indians, Jains) whose parents’ income is less than INR 44,500 are eligible for Encouragement Fund/ Fees reimbursement. This is administered by the Minorities Welfare Department.
- Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship: This scholarship is administered by the University Grants Commission (UGC). This will be granted to female students who are single girl children of their parents. The awardee will be given INR 500 per month for 10 months of each year.
- Subject Scholarship: The University has granted one scholarship for each class for the students who scored the highest marks in the previous qualifying examination. These carry free-ship exempting them from payment of tuition and lab fees only, plus a sum of INR 600 is given.
- Hon’ble Vice Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship: The scholarship is for meritorious students (1st to 5th Ranks) who come under the Below Poverty Line as defined by the Government of Karnataka. The scholarship amounts to INR 500 each per month for 10 months for each year, to each Department of Bangalore University.
- Special Scholarships: Special Scholarships for Children of Government Employees/University Employees who die in harness, administered by the Director of Collegiate Education or the University as the case may be.
Apart from these, top-ranking students can also avail India National Merit Scholarship administered by the Government of India.

- Library
The university library has two wings, Central College Campus and Jnana Bharathi Campus. The JB campus Library has a floor area of about 6500 square metres and has a collection of 325,000 volumes. It subscribes to 250 national and international journals and magazines (110 national journals, 62 international journals, 68 magazines).
- Health Care Centre
There is a Health Care Centre at J.B. Campus which is manned by two resident doctors; services of visiting specialised doctors are available.
- Sports Facility
The university has a gymnasium with facilities for indoor games, basketball Courts, Kho Kho ground and swimming pool. At the Central College campus a cricket stadium consisting of turf wicket, basketball court, volleyball court and lawn tennis is available to students. Every year around 45 inter-collegiate sports competitions are held for men and women. Nearly 100,000 students from 398 affiliated colleges participate in these sports events.
- Hostel
There are seven hostels. There are two men’s hostels at Tumkur and Kolar and one Ladies hostels at Kolar. The University provides hostel facilities with basic amenities such as mess, TV, common room etc. Hostel canteens are managed by student prefects. The average hostel fee is approximately 65k-95k per year.
