Bachelor of Fisheries Science [BFSc] From KUFOS, Kochi

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) is the first university in India exclusively dedicated to studies in fisheries and allied disciplines. KUFOS offers only one under-graduate programme viz. Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) to its students every year.

Admission to the B.F.Sc. programme can be done through any of the following two methods:

1. On the basis of KEAM scores & interview

2. On-Spot Admissions (For remaining vacant seats, if any)

Eligible candidates can apply for the programme by registering and filling the concerned online application form to appear in KEAM entrance examination. Students can download the KEAM Admit Card from the official website from March 28, 2021 (tentative) onwards and result of the test will be declared in the last week of May 2021. Check KUFOS Admission

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (HSC) examination under a recognized board in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together and minimum 50% marks in Biology separately.

Admission Process

Selection of the candidates for B.F.Sc. programme will be done through the following 2 methods:

Method 1: Admission to B.F.Sc. programme will be done on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the KEAM Medical Entrance Examination conducted by the CEE.

On the basis of merit as assessed in the entrance exam, candidates will be intimated for interview conducted by KUFOS.

Final selection of the candidates for the programme will be done based on their performance in KEAM entrance examination and interview conducted by KUFOS.

Method 2: On-Spot Admissions will also be done for the vacant seats, if any, left after students are being shortlisted through KEAM entrance examination. Selection through on-spot admissions will be done on the basis of candidate’s KEAM result and performance in qualifying examination.

How to Apply?

Candidates can apply for admission to B.F.Sc. programme of KUFOS by registering themselves for the KEAM entrance examination, conducted by CEE, Kerala.

Candidates can register for the entrance test through the online application process available at the official CEE website. Upon successful submission of application and processing fee, the candidate must send a printout of the filled-in applications along with necessary documents to the Office of CEE within the stipulated time.

Cost of Application Fee:

• For General Candidates: INR 1000/-
• For SC Candidates: INR 500/-
• For ST Candidates: No Application fee

Notes

On Spot-Admissions:

KUFOS conducts on-spot admission for the remaining vacant seats (if any) of B.F.Sc. course at the university campus subject to the condition that candidates should be included in the Kerala Entrance Rank list for Medical and Allied subjects 2021 on the basis of KEAM entrance exam scores.

5. Eligibility Certificate (for boards other than HSC/VHSC/THSC/CBSE/CISCE)
6. Transfer Certificate From the institution
7. Conduct Certificate last attended
8. Community Certificate (for applicants under community quota)
9. Physical Fitness Certificate
10. Passport size photo
