MGMIHS Ph.D: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

MGM Institute of Health Sciences was established in 1989 with the permission of State of Maharashtra. The institute is recognized by the Medical Council of India. It aims to be top-ranking institute in Medical Education by the end of year 2021. It believes in imparting students with quality education so that they serve all sections of society in the utmost beneficial manner. The MBBS and Post Graduation courses are under the vigilance of Medical Council and are revised time-to time for betterment of the students.

MGM Institute of Health Sciences provides PhD courses in ten different medical streams namely medical sciences, physiology, biotechnology, pharmacology, nursing, genetics and others. University conducts an Entrance Examination for selection of students. However, a student requires at least 55% in Master’s degree examination to enrol to the courses.

Admission to the Ph.D programme will be done on the basis of marks scored in the entrance test, conducted by the university. MGM Institute of Health Sciences PhD Eligibility Criteria

Ph.D. is offered in the following disciplines:

1. Medical Anatomy
2. Medical Physiology
3. Medical Biochemistry
4. Medical Pharmacology
5. Medical Microbiology
6. Medical Genetics
7. Medical Biotechnology 
8. Nursing

Eligibility:

• Students should possess Post Graduation Medical Qualification (MD/ MS degree or PG Diploma) or M.Sc. in Medical in respective subjects or equivalent qualification
• Students must have scored minimum 55% or B+ grade in Master’s degree from a recognized university.

Eligibility:

• Candidate should possess Master’s Degree in concerned subjects or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Students must have scored minimum 55% or B+ grade in Master’s degree from a recognized university.

Note: Duration of the Ph.D. course is 2 years for students who possess MD/MS/PG Diploma and 3 years for students who possess M.Sc. in Medical Subjects.

Note: If you are appearing for the final examination of Master’s degree, then you are eligible to apply and appear in the Entrance test. However, your enrolment to the Ph.D. course will be done only after you submit the proof of Master’s degree with the college.

MGM Institute of Health Sciences PhD Admission Process

Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of marks scored in the Entrance Test conducted by the University.

• The paper has mainly two parts: Research Aptitude Test and Subject Specific Test
• Research Aptitude Test will consist of: Research methodology; English Language Competency; Basic Compute Language
• Subject Specific Test will consist of: Multiple Choice Questions; Theoretical Descriptive Questions
• Both parts carry 50 marks each with the total time duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking.?

• Candidates can download the concerned application forms available at the official university website 
• Application form will be available from and students can submit the forms through post or in person by visiting the university office
• Duly filled-in application forms have to reach Office of the Registrar, ‘MGM Institute of Health Sciences’, Navi Mumbai with an envelope stating ‘PhD Application ’ along with the attested copies of the Statement of Marks of Master’s Degree
• Completed applications must be submitted along with the Demand Draft of Rs. 3000/- drawn in the favour of “MGM Institute of Health Sciences”, payable at Navi Mumbai, towards the cost of application form and entrance test.
