Annamalai University Pharm D Eligibility

12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Maths/Biology/Botany and Zoology
Diploma in Pharmacy Approved by Pharmacy Council of India.
Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
Applicants from other states can apply but they will be considered under open competition irrespective of the category. These students will be considered if there are seats available after considering Tamil Nadu applicants.
Applicants must have been 17 years or older.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be selected based on merit in the last qualifying exam. The university will prepare a Rank List/Merit List considering the percentage of total marks obtained by the candidate in higher secondary examinations conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board / any other equivalent board.

How to Apply?

Visit Annamalai University’s official website https://annamalaiuniversity.ac.in/ and click on ‘Admission’.
Next, click on the ‘UG’ tab and then click on the ‘Pharm D’ course
The candidate will be redirected to a page where he/she must click on the ‘New User Sign Up Here’ button to register.
Now, register by entering general details.
After registering, login with your credentials.
Now fill the application form with your personal details, educational details, and other information carefully.
Then upload scanned documents like the candidate’s photograph and signature.
Lastly, pay the application fee and submit the application form.
After registration, applicants need to submit a hard copy of the application to the university.

Preparation of Rank List

The marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by other Boards are equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu. This is called the normalization of marks.
After normalisation of marks, the qualified students shall be merged into a common merit list.
Applicants from boards such as CBSE, ISCE etc. will have the highest mark obtained in the relevant subject at the National Level alone considered for normalization.
For minimum eligibility, normalized marks will be considered.
The merit list is prepared based on the total marks out of 200.

Annamalai University Pharm D Course Details

The duration of the course is six academic years. There would be five years of study and one year of internship or residency.
Each academic year would have at least 200 working days.
The sixth-year will have internship or residency training including postings in speciality units. The student should independently provide the clinical pharmacy services to the allotted wards.

Pharm D Assessment Criteria

Students will have to appear for the annual examinations.
Each examination may be held twice every year. The first examination in a year will be the annual examination and the second examination will be the supplementary examination.
The examinations shall be of written and practical (including oral) nature carrying maximum marks for each part of a subject.
