RMLAU B.Sc. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admissions to the B.Sc program of RMLAU must satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria in order to be eligible for the course:
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 in the Science stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate from the Uttar Pradesh board or any other equivalent recognized board.
- Certain relaxation in qualifying marks is also provided to category students.
- To be eligible for admission in B.Sc Home Science, candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examinations with a minimum of 45% marks in any of the streams - Science (Bio/Maths)/ Agriculture/ Arts/ Commerce.
RMLAU B.Sc. Admission Guidelines
Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University provides admissions to its Bachelor’s Degree program in Science on the basis of candidate’s merit in the last qualifying examinations. Candidates who satisfy the above-mentioned eligibility criteria will only be qualified for further admission process.
- Admissions to B.Sc Home Science are either based on merit in the last qualifying examinations or merit in University Entrance Test (UET).

Admissions to the next consecutive years: 1st-year candidates in order to be eligible for B.Sc part II, must have passed B.Sc part I examinations as a regular student from the university. Similarly, candidates, in order to be eligible for B.Sc part III, must have passed B.Sc part II examinations with minimum eligible scores.
Marks Distribution: B.Sc Part I and B.Sc Part II will be comprising three subjects, each having three theory papers of 45 marks and one practical test of 65 marks. Additionally, two subjects each having four theory papers of 50 marks each and one Practical Test/ Course of 100 marks each. In the case of Mathematics, there shall be three papers two of 65 marks and a third of 70 marks in Part I and Part II while four papers each of 75 marks in part III.
B.Sc Home Science Course of Study: B.Sc Home Science course of study is divided into three groups A, B & C in Part I, II & III. Each group carries a maximum of 200 marks with two papers each of 100 marks which may or may not be practical. Where there is practical in any paper the weightage of marks shall be 60 and 40 for theory and practical respectively.
Grades: Final scores obtained by the candidates in their B.Sc degree is the aggregates of the marks obtained by them individually in B.Sc Part I, B.Sc Part II, and B.Sc Part III. Below are the highlights:
- Candidates with 60% aggregate marks or above will be awarded, first division.
- Candidates with 45% aggregate marks and below 60% aggregate marks will be awarded, second division.
- Candidates with 33% aggregate marks or above and below 45% aggregate marks will be placed in the third division category.
- A grace of one mark will be allowed for determining I or II division on the aggregate marks and in the result column (GD) will be written.
Examination and Evaluation: Midterm and end-term examinations in theory subjects, practicals, and projects are conducted in each semester of the course. Student's performance will be evaluated through continuous assessment in the form of Class Tests, Assignments, Quizzes, Viva-Voce/ Practicals, etc. The distribution of marks or the class tests, quiz tests, assignments, end semester theory, practical and other examinations shall be as per the prescribed scheme of examination. The maximum marks for the theory subjects shall consist of marks allotted for end semester examination and sessional work. Candidates must obtain 33% in theory and practical separately.
B.Sc Agriculture Curriculum: B.Sc Agriculture course is extended over four academic years comprising:
- Foundation Course
- Core Course
Foundation Course is studied in the first year in two languages, i.e, Hindi and English. Examinations will be comprising written papers and will include practicals in core courses and also, project/ field reports where prescribed.
Award of Degree: Candidates will be considered eligible for the award of degree if he/she has passed B.Sc Part I, B.Sc Part II, and B.Sc Part III examinations as regular students from any of the affiliated colleges of the university.
