Admission to the college is through an entrance exam followed by counseling based on merit. The college boasts excellent infrastructure, especially in laboratory facilities, which is beneficial for courses like microbiology. The faculty is generally well-regarded, although there have been issues with teacher misconduct and criticism of the Head of Department, Rubina Lawrence, for being unapproachable. Exams are conducted fairly, and the curriculum aligns with the New Education Policy, focusing on practical applications beneficial for placements. The tuition fee for a 4-year course was 25,000 Rs per semester in 2007. Currently, the yearly fee structure includes a Tuition fee of 35,000 Rs, an Examination fee of 3,500 Rs, and Miscellaneous charges of 750 Rs. A refundable Security deposit of 10,000 Rs is required at the time of admission, along with a one-time Admission fee of 5,000 Rs. After the first semester, only the Tuition and Examination fees are charged. The placement rate is approximately 20% with an average package of 2 Lakhs per annum, and the highest package recorded was 6 Lakhs by HCL in the Computer Science stream in 2022. Companies like HCL, Amul, Tata, and Accenture have visited for placements, but successful placements are rare. Internship opportunities are compulsory each semester but must be arranged by students themselves, with limited support from the university for internships.
