Uttarakhand Sanskrit University was established on the 21st of April 2005 by the Government of Uttarakhand in an attempt to propagate Sanskrit and Oriental language and connect them with modern context. Uttarakhand Sanskrit University currently has more 44 colleges affiliated to it with the goal of conservation and promotion oriental education.
The main campus of the university is located on the Delhi National Highway, 15 kilometers from Haridwar City in the Bahadrabad Area.
3.1 How to Apply?
The university offers a variety of diverse modern and oriental courses. It has 5 certificate courses of 6 months, 5 diploma courses of 1 year, 4 undergraduate courses ranging between 1 to 3 years and 12 postgraduate courses of 2 years. The university also offers PhD and MPhil courses in Sanskrit Sahitya (literature).
All applications are based on the merit obtained in the 12th / equivalent qualifying examinations. Applications for all courses are available online.

All candidates are admitted to USVV for all courses on the basis of merit of the respective qualifying examinations.
Candidates applying for PhD will have to appear for the PET (PhD Entrance Test) upon which selection will be made.
Students who have passed the JRC-NET or NET (National Eligibility Test) or SET Uttarakhand (State Eligibility Test) examinations of University Grants Commission or students who hold an M.Phil degree in the concerned subject are exempted from writing the PET and will be selected based on the Personal Interview that will follow.n
Students will be given admission based on the marks scored in their corresponding qualifying examinations. There will be a final personal interview that will determine final selection.
