WBUHS Admission 2024: Courses, Fees, Entrance Exam, Application Form, Eligibility, Selection Process

West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) offers MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Science) degrees to candidates who want to make their career in the field of Medical science. The duration period for both courses is 5.5 years and 4 years respectively. The  MBBS degree also includes an internship programme of one year. In order to seek admission in MBBS and BDS, candidates need to appear for NEET UG conducted by CBSE.

WBUHS MBBS/BDS Eligibility Criteria 

• 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Botany & Zoology.
• Candidates must acquire the minimum marks as per MCI guidelines.
• Candidates must be of 17 years before December 31, 2023. 

WBUHS MBBS/BDS Selection Criteria 

Candidates are selected on basis of the NEET-UG exam conducted by NTA followed by counselling and personal interview.

WBUHS offers Nursing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. M.Sc in nursing in various specializations. Following are the details about fees, duration, eligibility and selection criteria. 

WBUHS Nursing Eligibility Criteria 

• B.Sc Nursing: 10+ 2 Higher Secondary Examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with an aggregate of 45% marks. 
• M.Sc Nursing: B.Sc Nursing/GNM Certificate/RNRM Certificate registered by the State Nursing Council of any State of India. 

WBUHS Nursing Selection Criteria 

• B.Sc Nursing: Candidates are selected on basis of score & merit in JENPAS – UG entrance examination conducted by WBJEEB. 
• M.Sc Nursing: Candidates are selected on the basis of score & merit in JEMScN conducted by WBJEEB. 

WBUHS provides various courses and specializations at UG courses. The selection is based on the merit list in the required entrance exam. 

WUBHS UG Selection Criteria 2023 

B.Pharm: Candidates are selected on the basis of score/merit in WBJEE conducted by WBJEEB. 

BPT/BPO/B.Sc AHS: Candidates are selected on the basis of score/merit in JENPAS-UG conducted by WBJEEB. 

West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) offers Master of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and Master of Dental Science (MDS) to aspiring students. The courses offered are for a duration period of three years each.

WBUHS also offers courses like DCP, DPH, DMCW and DIH for a duration period of two years. Admissions in these courses is done on the basis of marks obtained in the 10+2 level or equivalent in the relevant discipline. However, candidates must need to fulfil the eligibility criteria to apply for any of the programmes.

WBUHS also offers super-speciality courses like Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) under various specializations for a duration period of three years each. The eligible candidates are selected on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying examination.

West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) offers PhD degree specializing in Health Sciences. The duration period for the PhD course is 3-5 years. Intake capacity depends upon the nature of specialization. In order to seek admission to a PhD programme, candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria else they will be eliminated from the admission process.

WBUHS PhD Eligibility Criteria 

• Regular faculty members who have successfully completed 5 or 5 ½ years of the undergraduate program and 3 years of a postgraduate program leading to a recognized PG degree without any interruptions and at least 5 years of continuous teaching/ research experience after obtaining a recognised PG degree and at least two publications in peer-reviewed / national/international / indexed / refereed Journal.
• Candidate with M.Sc or equivalent PG degree from a recognized university in Basic Science/Medical/Dental/Homoeopathy/Ayurveda/Unani/Nursing/AHS/Paramedical Science.

WBUHS PhD Selection Criteria

• Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks scored in the entrance test followed by a viva-voce conducted by the university.
• Qualified in UGC-NET (including JRF), CSIR, DST, DBT, ICMR, UGC, ICHR or other national / state level fellowship through a national / state level screening test.
