Karnataka State Women’s University (KSWU) was established in 2003 and is the first university exclusively for women in Karnataka recognized under the UGC Act. The University provides PG courses and PhD courses in various disciplines of arts, commerce, science, technology, education etc.
KSWU provides Ph.D. courses of 4 year duration in 12 discipline. Admission in these programmes is given on the basis of qualifying examination, entrance examination conducted by the university followed by an interview round.

KSWU PhD Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate should have completed his/her Master’s degree in the relevant or allied subjects pertaining to the PhD programme with a minimum of 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST).
- If the candidate is employed or in continuance of their service in affiliated colleges before March-31-1992, they are eligible with a minimum of 50% aggregate in master’s degree.
- Candidates who have passed M.Phil. or GATE/JRF or belong to FIP/QIP programmes or working under specialized funded programmes are eligible to apply.
KSWU PhD Admission Process
- After completing the registration process by filling the application form in all respects and making the registration fee, the students have to appear for a written test and interview and their performance in both will be the criteria for selection of the students for final admission.
- The 100 marks written test is of three-hour duration, syllabus consisting of the post-graduation subjects.
- The candidate will be eligible to give the interview if he/she has scored 40% marks in the entrance test (35% for SC/ST candidates)
