The educational objectives of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in are to give students an introductory education in the art and craft of professional game writing and design. Students are instructed through a strict regimen consisting of lectures, seminars, and total immersion workshops to excel in the creative art of game writing & design.
The educational objectives in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Game Design are to teach students the art and craft of game design and storytelling at the professional level. To accomplish this goal NYFA employs a curriculum of lectures, seminars, and total immersion workshops.
All Students Will:
- Be able to deconstruct any game experience into Formal, Dramatic, and Dynamic systems.
- Acquire the skills of game prototyping, playtesting, iteration, presentation, and collaboration.
- Know how to prototype multiple games regardless of technical skills.
- Know how to develop software using industry best practices, including Agile and Scrum.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Completed Undergraduate (BFA) Program Application

- Scores of SAT and ACT(Optional).
Indian Eligibility:
- Non-U.S. residents or international applicants, for whom English is not the first or native language), are required to submit proof of English proficiency, in the form of: TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English test.
VISA & Work Study
VISA
- In order to study at the New York Film Academy’s NYC, LA, and South Beach, Florida campuses, students will require an F-1 student visa.
- Please note that the U.S. government prohibits studying full-time on a tourist visa.
- In order to apply for a student visa, student will need an I-20 Certificate which will be issued to him by the NYFA International Student Office.
- In order to be eligible to get an I-20 he would have to enroll in a full time class, which includes all workshops and programs except the one-week, online and evening classes.
- Before issuing the I-20 certificate oone must apply and be accepted to a program.
- After a student has applied to a program the International Student Office staff will email him the I 20 application and instructions on how to submit the required documents.
- Once they have received all the proper documents for the I-20 certificate, they will process and send out the I-20 certificate via express courier within 3-5 business days.
- They will send the student an email to confirm it has been sent and this email will include the SEVIS ID # and instructions on how to pay the SEVIS fee.
