University of North Alabama Scholarships/Financial Aid

• One-third of University of North Alabama students receive a scholarship for studying in the U.S. either institutional or endowed.
• The University provides student loans, grants, scholarships, and work-study programs.
• Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the University has reduced the GPA requirement for the 2023-2024 scholarships.
• Academic scholarships initially required a GPA of 3.25 which has been reduced to a GPA of 3.0. Leadership and Vanguard Scholarships required a GPA of 3.00 which has now been reduced to a GPA of 2.75.
• A few scholarships available for international students are given below:
  • Academic Scholarships ranging from 3,000 USD to 6,000 USD are awarded to international students in two installments. These scholarships are renewable on the basis of academic performance.
  • Global Learning Community Housing Scholarship helps students save up to 4,000 USD annually by offering a waiver of the housing fee.
  • Navigator Scholarship recipients receive 1,000 USD annually. New international students are eligible for this scholarship and receive a host of services like introduction, orientation, conversation partners, OIA programming, etc.
  • Online Student Scholarship is applicable for online program students commencing in Fall 2023. The scholarship will offer 50% off on non-resident tuition fees for enrolling in completely online programs.
  • Shoals India Endowed International Scholarship is awarded to a full-time student at UNA, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, enrolled at UNA for a minimum one academic year, must be a citizen of India or any other South Asian country and is preferably a first-generation student. Students passing the eligibility criteria will have to submit a 500-word essay, a recent transcript and a copy of their resume.
