In today's world - where governments and societies are continuously becoming more connected and reliant on one another - knowledge of public policy is as relevant as ever.

The Franklin & Marshall Public Policy joint major program provides excellent preparation for careers that focus on public service, including social policy, public administration, international relations or international development.

The program offers considerable opportunities for customization according to student goals. Currently, students are pursuing joint majors with Sociology, Science, Technology, and Society, Business, Organizations and Society, Government and Economics; other possibilities can be arranged to meet specific student needs.

Students experience meaningful research through our Policy Analysis Workshop, learning real-world methods of policy analysis to conduct policy research on a community issue.

The Public Policy program emphasizes public and community service. Students work closely with such public service entities as the Center for the Liberal Arts and Society, the Public Service Summer Internship Program, the Sidney Wise Public Service Internship Program and the Spalding Leadership Program.

Recent graduates of the program have been accepted into graduate-level public policy programs at Princeton University, the University of Michigan, Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University, the University of Pittsburgh and the London School of Economics, among others.
