Accommodation/Housing Facilities

Northwoods Village and Sussman Village, two popular student apartment complexes, host junior and senior students.

Skidmore College Scholarships & Financial Aid

  • Filene Music program Scholarships - The Filene Music Competition awards $60,000 over four years in addition to free private instruction. The scholarship package, which includes $15,000 a year in tuition and instruction fees, is given regardless of any additional need-based aid.
  • Porter/Wachenheim Presidential Scholarships In Science And Mathematics - Each year, Skidmore awards five Porter/Wachenheim Scholarships in Science and Mathematics to students who have excelled in science and mathematics, regardless of financial need; significant promise and passion for science and math are also important. A $60,000 scholarship is given to each Porter/Wachenheim Scholar.

Skidmore College FAQs

Ques. Is it possible to modify my Regular Decision application to an Early Decision application?

Ans. Yes. You have until February 1 to switch your Regular Decision application to an Early Decision II application. Simply send an email to admissions@skidmore.edu indicating that you want your application converted. To formalize it, Admissions will work with you.

Ques. When will I find out whether my Early Decision (ED) application has been approved?

Ans. Students who apply by the November 15 deadline for ED Round I will hear back in mid-December about their application status. Those who apply by the January 15 ED Round II deadline, as well as those who convert Regular Decision applications to Early Decision by February 1, will be heard by February 15. Candidates may begin applications to other universities, but if accepted into one of Skidmore's Early Decision options, they must withdraw all other applications and enroll at Skidmore immediately.

Ques. Is there a requirement for a certain number of credits to apply for transfer admission?

Ans. We don't have a minimum credit requirement, but we prefer to see one year of college-level work done before transferring.

Ques. What information do I need to apply to Skidmore's Opportunity Program?

Ans. The Opportunity Program (OP) provides outstanding and motivated students with access to a high-quality liberal arts education who might otherwise be unable to attend our institution due to their academic or financial circumstances.
